May 10, 60 people from 12 churches gathered again:

  • to give thanks to our Mayor and to the community,
  • to bring the Church together,
  • to help to forge links between the Church and community,
  • and to raise money for a charity of the Mayor's choosing.

Also, in accordance with the theme of the National Day of Thanksgiving, we also had Joan Gordon, National President of MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) Australia share about this important work in our churches and community.

Dr Stuart Piggin, encouraged us, affirming the predominant role of the church in society, in history and in today's climate. Copies of his talk will be available for download soon.

The Mayor expressed his gratitude for the church's support, and $840.35 was raised for the charity - with thanks to all attendees and to WORD Bookstore.
